it seems obvious to me that he was important to someone, having his headstone protected by the fence. the shots in black and white were especially perfect, melinda!
We were driving around, exploring one day, and found signs leading to an old schoolhouse in an area called Metcalf Bottoms. The school house is called Little Greenbriar school and was built in 1881. It'll be my next post. For some reason, I've been fascinated by the history of the area and a widow lady, last name Ogle, who was one of the original settlers of the area. The grave stone is one of many in that yard and what struck me was the number of infants buried there.
See what happens? I'm supposed to be taking a break (thanks Mark) this August from blogging and now I can't shut up!
